The total amount of grape varieties are estimated to be around 1800 different kinds that can be manufactured into good wine. 200 of the grapes exsists in Italy, 100 in France and around 60 are in Spain. The rest is devided around the world. Some are more famous and some are not. So to fully understand wine is almost impossible, however you can be more skilled than others and go to school and learn, like sommeliers or even higher; viniculture program. Sommelier school takes around 3 years, but to learn viniculture takes around 4-6 years dependent on the degree.
